Many Lutheran schools across the state offer basketball programs for middle school boys and girls starting as young as the fourth grade and continuing through the 8th grade.
Basketball starts for most schools in October and culminates at the end of January with their league tournaments. At the end of February, schools who field varsity teams (usually 7th and 8th grade) apply and are accepted to compete in the Lutheran schools boys and girls state tournament. Entrance to the Lutheran National Tournament is on the line.
